Claudius Fabrication is a metal fabrication business in Alexandra, Victoria. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website.
We have written it to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). It applies to this website and to enquiries and orders that come through it.
Last updated: 28 July 2026.
We only collect what we need to quote on work, fulfil an order, and keep proper business records.
When you request a quote, we collect your name, your email address, your phone number if you give us one, whatever you write in the message, and any drawings or files you attach.
When you buy something, we collect your name and email address, what you ordered and how it was configured, and the amount you paid. Your card details are entered directly with our payment provider and are never sent to, seen by, or stored on our systems.
We do not currently run analytics, advertising trackers or third-party cookies on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
To stop the quote form being abused, we record a one-way encrypted fingerprint of the network address a submission came from, together with a timestamp. It cannot be reversed back into an address, and we use it only to count recent submissions.
We do not collect sensitive information as the Privacy Act defines it, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
Your shopping cart is stored in your own browser, not on our servers. It never leaves your device until you check out.
If you are a member of our staff signing in to the admin area, we set a cookie to keep you signed in. That is the only cookie this site sets.
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. To make what you have ordered and get it to you. To take payment and issue a receipt. To keep the business records the law requires us to keep. To answer you if you contact us later about a job we did.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
We use a small number of service providers to run this website and the business behind it. Each of them only receives what they need.
Stripe processes payments. When you pay, your card details go directly to Stripe. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded, your name and your email address — never your card number.
Supabase stores our database and the files you upload. Their servers hold this data in Sydney, Australia.
Vercel hosts and serves this website. The servers that build each page and receive your form submissions run in Sydney, Australia.
We use an email service to send ourselves a notification when you make an enquiry, and accounting software to prepare invoices for orders.
Apart from these providers, we do not disclose your information to anyone else unless you ask us to, or the law requires it.
This website runs in Australia. Our database, the files you upload, and the servers that receive what you submit are all located here.
Some of the services we rely on operate overseas. Payments are processed by Stripe, and the service that emails us your enquiry may handle it outside Australia.
Where we disclose information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Everything you send us travels over an encrypted connection.
Drawings and files you attach to an enquiry are stored in a private location that is not reachable by any public web address. They can only be opened by a staff member who has been granted access, and only through a link that expires after a few minutes.
Access to the admin system is limited to named accounts, and each account is granted only the specific areas it needs. Someone who maintains the product catalogue cannot read your enquiry.
No system is perfect. If a breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
We keep enquiries and any attached drawings for as long as we need them to quote on the work and to deal with anything that follows from it.
Records connected to a sale are kept for at least five years, which is the period Australian tax law requires.
When information is no longer needed for any of these purposes, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it.
Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. There is no charge for asking.
We may need to confirm who you are before we act, and there are some records we are legally required to keep even if you ask us to delete them. If we cannot do what you have asked, we will explain why.
Contact us first. Tell us what happened and what you would like us to do about it. We will look into it and write back to you.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or by phone on 1300 363 992.
We will update this page if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
